Dana Johnson

Dana R. Johnson is a Senior Member of Technical Staff for Northrop Grumman Innovation Systems in Northridge, CA. He is a member of the Mechanical Design Group and is responsible for providing core design expertise on Missile Development programs.

A twenty-three year Northrop Grumman veteran, Dana Johnson spent most of his years in Redondo Beach and El Segundo working Laser programs, Satellite programs, and aircraft programs. Dana Johnson has held a series of challenging assignments as a Designer on the Tactical High Energy Laser program, Space Based Laser program, and Airborne Laser program. He was the Responsible Design Engineer on the Beacon Illuminator refurbishment effort and the Responsible Structural Design Engineer on the Space Tracking Surveillance Satellite. In addition to those roles, he has supported various closed area programs. He currently is working on missile development programs.

In addition to his commitment to Northrop Grumman, Mr. Johnson invests a great deal of time in community service: He actively promotes Engineering, Science, and Mathematics in the community. He has participated in the NGAS/AATG Bootstrap Scholarship Foundation tutorial program, served as a speaker at many inner city grade schools, and sponsored field trips for grade school and college students to NGAS where he personally walked students through “a day with an engineer”. He has been a lunchtime tutor for Local Middle Schools. He is a lifetime member of the Los Angeles Council of Black Professional Engineers, and a leader for the EXCELL Saturday School Program as a teacher and administrator.
